The clouds finally cleared about 18:00 with a number of aircraft taking a launch. 797 made the best of the day climbing to just short of 17,000 feet for a gain of 14,868 feet.

We have scrubbed for the day, cloud base is around 2000 feet with few holes in the clouds.

The 2016 rules are now available along with an updated entry list and list of officials

For those of you not familiar with the UKMSC, their are two competitions running in parallel. One is standard cross country racing competition scored using regional rules with a slight modification the start procedure to allow pilot to start in wave.

The second is a height gain competition running throughout the week, with prizes also awarded daily for the greatest gain of height.
